Evening Song Farm Destroyed by Hurricane Irene

Hi friends,

As you've probably heard, Hurricane Irene devastated Vermont by flooding rivers in the biggest flood in the past 84 years. Our friends Ryan Wood Beauchamp and Kara Fitzgerald recently started a CSA project, a farm near Rutland VT, growing beautiful vegetables to feed their community. Ryan and Kara have gone to great pains to create a business that is ecologically responsible, and provides an alternative to the huge agribusinesses that generally provide our food in this country.

Unfortunately the storm this weekend took their crops, and in turn their livelihood.

Make a donation through the 'Donation' button in the upper left-hand corner, whatever you can give. Your donation will help Ryan and Kara rebuild, and help them to make it through the coming months while the income they count on to live is not coming in. We are all pinched these days, but we must come together to help others, especially those who have taken risks to do the right thing for our society and environment. Help defend something you believe in, support from your community is what you would wish for if the tables were turned.
